Giggleswick School celebrates Class of 2026 as pupils secure places at leading universities and embark on diverse next steps
Giggleswick School is celebrating the achievements of its Year 13 pupils today, as members of the Class of 2026 secure places at universities across the UK and take their next steps into a wide range of academic and professional pathways. This year’s results saw pupils achieve strong outcomes across a broad range of subjects, with particularly notable performances in Maths and Further Maths, where 83% achieved A* or an A. A Level & BTEC results at a glance: • A* – 17%* • A*–A – 44%* • A*–B – 67%* • A*–C – 91%* • Overall pass rate – 100% Among this year’s university destinations are the University of Oxford, where Rebecca will read Theology and Religion, and the University of Newcastle, where Julia achieved A*A*A in Chemistry, Biology and Maths to begin a degree in Medicine and Surgery. Other destinations include The University of Warwick for Law and Sociology, Lancaster University to study Electronic and Electrical Engineering, and the University of Edinburgh for Philosophy and Theology. The breadth of destinations reflects the varied interests and ambitions of Giggleswick’s leavers, who are also progressing to courses including Media Production, Acting, Politics, Film and Media Studies and Sustainable Land and Business Management. Headmaster Sam Hart said: “Today is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our Year 13 pupils and everything they have achieved during their time at Giggleswick. We are proud to support pupils with a wide range of abilities, interests and ambitions. We believe that success is about finding the right pathway for each individual, and our focus is on helping every pupil identify the courses, university or next step where they can thrive and fulfil their potential. We are particularly proud of the quality of offers and destinations achieved by this year’s leavers. From an offer to study Theology and Religion at Oxford and Medicine and Surgery at Newcastle, to places at universities including Warwick, Lancaster and Edinburgh, our pupils have secured opportunities at some of the UK’s leading institutions. Alongside these, others are progressing into apprenticeships and other pathways that reflect their individual ambitions. We wish them every success as they take this exciting next step.” For families considering their options for the coming academic year, Sixth Form applications for September 2026 are still open. Prospective families are welcome to contact Giggleswick’s Admissions Team on 01729 893 000 or email admissions@giggleswick.org.uk to find out more about Sixth Form opportunities and the admissions process.
