Vyne Urology Nurse Specialist Lauren Brown Awarded Prestigious Queen’s Nurse Status

Urology nurse specialist, Lauren Brown, has been awarded Queen’s Nurse status, honouring her commitment to high standards of practice and patient-centred care. The clinical nurse specialist at Leeds-based Vyne, the digital health partner for bladder and bowel care, qualified in 2012 and has since held roles across the NHS’s Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust before moving to company nursing. Central to the Queen’s Nurse title is a commitment to training and continuous learning, something Lauren has embraced throughout her career. In 14 years, Lauren has already made significant contributions to community nursing, including being involved in the creation of the UK’s first Nephrostomy Framework. Developed by the multidisciplinary National Nephrostomy Working Group, the framework has been created to standardise nephrostomy management and associated aftercare across services. Lauren has worked with Vyne for over five years, forming part of Vyne’s team of specialist nurses who deliver free patient assessments, product reviews and ongoing support for users of the online platform and app, which is designed to streamline aftercare. Lauren was encouraged by Vyne’s Head of Nursing, Andrew Bird, to apply for the title after being impressed by her quality of care and commitment to advancing best practice. Lauren Brown commented: "To be supported by the team at Vyne to pursue the Queen’s Nurse status is a huge honour. For me, nursing has always been about continuous learning and going above and beyond for patients and the community. I have had the pleasure of working alongside several Queen’s Nurses in my career, which opened my eyes to the amazing work being done across the UK and the quality of service they deliver. It’s a privilege to be able to bring the expertise of the Queen’s Nurses to Vyne’s patients and fellow clinicians.” Andrew Bird, Head of Nursing at Vyne, commented: “Those who work alongside Lauren already know the dedication, compassion and professionalism she brings to nursing every day. What makes me particularly proud is that this recognition reflects not only Lauren’s excellent nursing practice, but the influence she has on patients, colleagues and the quality of services we provide. Huge congratulations, Lauren; it's an outstanding achievement and thoroughly deserved.”
