Work Club At Swarcliffe Community Centre, Now Open

The new Work Club is now open at Swarcliffe Community Centre, to assist in getting local people work ready for job opportunities that will arise in the near future, particularly at Thorpe Park and Victoria Gate, but also in construction with large housing developments planned in the near future. Ward Members for Cross Gates & Whinmoor, conscious that the nearest Job Shop was in Seacroft and working with the Outer East Community Committee, secured funding to commission The LS14 Trust to deliver a Work Club at Swarcliffe Community Centre. Local people are being encouraged to use this new service that will provide assistance with CV’s. job search and to be more work savvy when looking for employment. Councillor Pauleen Grahame said “Please everybody looking for employment come along to our new Work Club.”
Cllr Peter Gruen said “We have set up this new work shop in the heart of our community at the Swarcliffe Community Centre to help people back into work. Everyone who needs a bit of help is very welcome.”
Cllr Pauleen Grahame added ” there are a lot of new opportunities, like 550 jobs at John Lewis, coming along. So come along for any free advice and support from helpful local advisers.”
The Work Club is open Monday mornings and
Wednesday afternoons at Swarcliffe Community Centre, Stanks Gardens, LS14 5LS.
