The country’s strongest men and women descend on Yorkshire this month as York Barbican hosts a Saturday of Strength that will have spectators gripped, amazed and on the edge of their seats.
On Saturday 22 June, two big titles will be up for grabs in the latest stage of the world’s premier strongman and women tour, Giants Live, which is born, bred and continues to be based here in Yorkshire.
Giants Live, which started in a car park a decade ago and now fills arenas across the UK, is the only way for athletes to qualify for the biggest, longest running, most coveted strongman title of all time: The World’s Strongest Man.
First up on 22 June, England’s Strongest Man 2024 will be decided from midday with a powerhouse showdown between the biggest of big names, including legendary strongman Mark Felix. The winner not only earns themselves a coveted title but a spot at the final of Britain’s Strongest Man 2025.
Then, Britain’s Strongest Woman 2024 will compete from 6pm in an electrifying evening celebrating raw strength and unwavering spirit. The reigning World’s Strongest Woman, Rebecca Roberts, will be there to defend her title alongside a whole host of challengers vying to steal her crown.
Boroughbridge-born Darren Sadler, four-time World’s Strongest Man competitor and co-founder of the Giants Live Arena Tour, said:

Giants Live in York is the latest event in the strongmen and strongwomen’s tour which has already seen them perform in front of sell-out crowds in Sheffield and Leeds.
Future events include a sell-out at the Royal Albert Hall, the World Deadlift Championships in Las Vegas, the Open and World Log Lift Challenge in Birmingham and the World Tour Finals in Glasgow.
