The Dino Jaws Exhibition

Local NewsMuseum

Hello readers, I hope you are all having a good summer so far and that the weather has been good where you are.

Also, I hope you enjoyed my last article about the chocolate making event I went to at Leeds market. As most of you will know each month I write a review about a different place or toy, this time it being about the Dino Jaws exhibition at the New Dock. Read on for more information.

The New Dock is opposite the Royal Armouries and that is where Dino Jaws is currently exhibiting. If you have not guessed already the exhibition is about dinosaurs and is taking place from now until September. The prices in advance are: adults/children over 3 £5.90, a family ticket for 4 people is £22. Under 3 years is free. You can also purchase tickets on the door at a slightly higher rate.

As you walk through the entrance your adventure begins as you witness life-like dinosaurs. You walk around the path seeing all the dinosaurs on the way, with different activities dotted about such as a part where you can uncover fossils. Furthermore, there is an activity sheet you can fill in, where at each new dinosaur you meet you find an answer on the information board and a stamp to stamp your sheet. These activities make the exhibition not only about looking at dinosaurs. It is really interactive with loads of fun things for children of all ages to try and maybe some of the grown-ups too!

The dinosaurs at Dino Jaws are amazing and really life-like with the way they move and the noises they make. Each robot is programmed to do several movements so you aren’t just watching it repeat the same thing. The dinosaurs also look really realistic with their scales and spikes. Their surroundings go with what they would have been in that time. Even one dinosaur makes the floor vibrate but you’ll have to go yourself to find out which. You will be able to find an art area and a room with a short movie in as well. There is also an amazing gift shop with everything dinosaur crazy, from soft toys to fossil kits.

Overall, Dino Jaws is absolutely amazing and you really should go. I had a fantastic time and it’s the sort of place that the adults will love as much as the kids. I give Dino Jaws 10/10 full score!
