Renowned florist Fiona Hogg will be the guest speaker at a Stunning Summer Evening of Flowers and Inspiration event in Dunnington, York in aid of the NSPCC, with tickets now on sale.

Fiona Hogg, has been a florist since 1993 and over the years her business, Fiona Hogg Floral Designs, has worked all around the country designing amazing flowers for weddings and events, clients have included the BBC, Homes and Gardens Magazine, The Canadian Embassy and the ultimate client on everyone’s list Her Majesty, The Queen.

Fiona will be demonstrating how flower arrangements can visually, and through scent and taste enhance any home or event. Fiona is also keen to share her love of essential oils and how wild roses from the hedgerows can make the most delicious rose petal jam.

The fundraiser, held in support of children’s charity the NSPCC, will be held on Saturday 11th August at The Reading Rooms on Church Street in Dunnington, near York and will also feature a buffet supper, stalls and a raffle.

The event has been put together by the Dunnington NSPCC Committee, its Chair Kay Federico said “We are so grateful to Fiona for kindly giving up her time for such a worthy cause, I am sure the evening will not only be fun, full of top tips for those of us who love our floral displays but also inspirational.”

“It makes it doubly special that whilst having such an enjoyable time we will be helping to make a difference to so many children’s lives.”

The event will be, for Fiona personally, quite poignant as it will be her last ever floral demonstration, given the demands on her very busy wedding floristry for events around the UK, she said “I agreed to do this demonstration because of a wonderful lady, my former landlady when I first started out, Mrs Eve McHugh who asked me to do my first ever public demonstration about 25 years ago. We are a very busy wedding florist and giving up my evenings- especially Saturdays – as I am sure you can imagine is not easy but I thought it was so fitting for me to have done my first and last demonstration for the Dunnington NSPCC, Committee.”

Elaine Kaye, NSPCC local fundraising manager said: “I am really looking forward to what promises to be a really special event. Fiona’s creations are so beautiful and I know it will be fascinating to hear what inspires her.

“We hope to raise a hugely impressive amount of money for the NSPCC, which will help the charity reach even more children in Yorkshire and across the UK when they need us the most.”

The Stunning Summer Evening of Flowers and Inspiration will be held at The Reading Rooms, Church Street, Dunnington YO19 5PW on Saturday 11th August 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets at £9.00 will be available from Chriss Carr on 01904 488338 or Saida Griffiths on 01904 488418
