The Leeds South and East foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust which is a third-sector, non-profit making charity, staffed by non-waged volunteers and they are appealing for help to feed a family this Christmas.

From the 1st April 2014 to the present, across South and East Leeds, the foodbank has fed directly, through their distribution centres, 22,998 people (13,743 adults and 9,255 children). They also supply school breakfast clubs and food for homeless charities. 

They urgently require:

Cereals, Tinned Tomatoes, Tinned Vegetables, Tinned Meat, Tinned Fish, Tinned Potatoes/Mash, Rice, Pasta Sauce, Tinned Fruit, Tinned Rice Pudding, Tinned Custard, Biscuits, Juice, Coffee, UHT Milk.

Food donations can be delivered to the foodbanks warehouse at Unit 16, Ashbrooke Business Park, Parkside Lane, Leeds LS11 5SF.  Opening hours are Monday to Wednesday, 08:30 – 14:30.

Morrison’s Supermarket, Rothwell

Sainsbury’s Supermarket in the White Rose Shopping Centre.

Halifax Building Society Branches at Hunslet and Morley.
