Rated Britain’s best gardening event by Which? Gardening, Harrogate Spring Flower Show will this year be celebrating pedals as well as petals!

As excitement builds for the Yorkshire start of the world’s biggest cycling race, exhibitors at the UK’s most prestigious independent flower show are preparing to add a little joie de vivre to their displays, held at the Great Yorkshire Showground between 24th – 27th April.

With more large-scale show gardens than ever before, this year sees an exhibit by Harrogate Borough Council, celebrating the legacy of the Tour de France across the region. Meanwhile, the exciting new community Pocket Gardens will include an entry designed to showcase the ‘Tour de Plants’ – a special gardener’s guide to the race routes through Yorkshire, available at the event from Gardens Harrogate.

The spring show hosts Britain’s biggest exhibition of floral art. Amongst 150 painstakingly prepared individual works of art will be flower arrangements themed ‘On your bike’ and floristry celebrating ‘Vive le vélo’.

Elsewhere in the show, children’s activities include hands-on fun in Gardening with Nature, where budding gardeners can put their green fingers to work on seed sowing, willow weaving and mini-wormeries.

Live entertainment throughout the four day event includes talks and tips in the Dig It Garden Theatre and Kitchen Garden Live stage. Chefs in the Plot to Pot Cookery Theatre will also present an exciting daily menu.

With thousands of high-quality garden products, unique handmade crafts, lovely gifts and specialist regional foods, this really is the perfect day out for garden lovers.
