Barwick in Bloom were delighted with their success in achieving a RHS Gold Award for Barwick in Elmet in Britain in Bloom 2013, and are now busy planning their 2014 campaign in Yorkshire in Bloom. Some 12,000 summer bedding plants and around 100 hanging baskets have been ordered and the group are now busy keeping the village looking good during the winter months. Leaf clearing, mulching and if need be snow clearing are the order of the day!
The group raise all their own funds and this is a never ending task!
2014 starts with one of their brilliant Coffee Mornings at the Village Hall between 10am and Noon on Saturday January 18th when there will be the usual Bric a Brac, Book, Jewellery and Cake stalls.
They receive tremendous support for their efforts from the village and the January Coffee Morning is always special as it is a great place to recycle unwanted Christmas gifts!!
