A STUNNING motorbike customized in Leeds has beaten off fierce competition to scoop top prize in a national competition.
The Triumph Bonneville T100, also known as ‘The Red Devil’ was recognised for its “unusual custom design, excellent condition and attention to detail” in a fierce competition celebrating 25 years of Hinckley Triumph – the largest British motorcycle manufacturer.
More than 200 bikes were entered across 50 dealerships from all over the UK into five age categories: 1991-1995, 1996-2000, 2001-2005, 2006-2010 and 2011-2015.
Following a rigorous judging process, two bikes from each category, including the Red Devil which was entered into the newest category, were announced on Saturday, July 4, as having been elected to form an elite group of the10 best Triumph models in the UK.
Proud owner of the motorbike, Simon Brown, who is also managing director of the Leeds-based quirky online clothing company Joe Browns, said he was thrilled at the win.
He said: “We all love the bike, but it’s great to hear so many other people do too.
“The design was really important to us. The number has always had a resonance with us at Joe Browns. The 7 wonders of the world and the 7 seas link to our love of travel and as bike enthusiasts; it’s also our nod to the legendary Barry Sheene, who always wore number 7.”
Mr Brown will join the other nine winners for an intimate facility tour and presentation dinner at Triumph’s headquarters in Hinckley, Leicestershire later in the year.
