Shrek the Musical!

Hello readers, welcome to this exclusive website review. It is about a musical I went to see during September. I had an excellent time and would love to tell you more about it.

I went to the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford to see Shrek the Musical. It was a massive hit in London’s West End so they decided to take it on tour.

On arrival at the theatre I bought some Shrek Slime (green lemon and lime slush drink) which was very nice and the staff were really friendly. You could also buy merchandise for the show such as t-shirts, Shrek ears and of course a programme.

The show began shortly after we were shown to our seats which were really comfortable. The musical was excellent. Shrek looks just like the animated version in the original film and it has all your favourite characters including of course Princess Fiona, Donkey, Pinocchio, Gingerbread Man and the villain Lord Farquaad. They are all fabulous singers, and tell much of the story through the songs which are different to the ones in the film but really good.

My mum thought Lord Farquaad was hilarious and was crying with laughter every time he came on stage. I really liked the Gingerbread Man. The dragon puppet was also really impressive, it was huge and the way it moved around on stage was really good. The stage was really well designed with trees, towers and some special effects thrown in.

All in all I had a great time and didn’t want the show to end. It was really funny and entertaining for the whole family.

Unfortunately, Shrek the Musical is leaving Yorkshire to travel around the rest of the country but if it ever returns or you can travel a little further I highly recommend it. It is definitely one of the best shows I have ever seen at the theatre!
