Thorpe Park Hotel: I was a very lucky girl recently when, as part of my birthday celebrations I got to sample the famous Girls Night Out package at Thorpe Park Hotel and Spa. As a busy working parent it is not often I get to let my hair down and relax, and this was just what the doctor ordered! The Girls Night Out package is very popular at the hotel, perfect for hen parties or just as it was in my case, a chance for friends to get together, have fun and relax.
On arrival at Thorpe Park Hotel, my friend Tracy and I made our drink and film selections then headed up to our room to settle in. The room was sumptuous, with everything we could have wanted. We couldn’t wait to check out the spa however, and quickly donned the fluffy white robes and slippers that were in our room. The spa is simply fantastic!
There is a good sized swimming pool, sauna and steam room, gym and Jacuzzi. Wanting a relaxing weekend, we avoided the gym on this occasion and headed straight for the Jacuzzi where we let the bubbles wash away the stresses of the previous week. The pool area has plenty of loungers, perfect for chilling out with a good book and a drink.
If you fancy adding an extra treat to your stay, the spa also offers a wide range of treatments that you can book, from simple nail tidies to the total relaxation of a full body massage.
Our evening began in the bar with pre-dinner cocktails and nibbles. Our 3 course dinner was delicious and accompanied by a wonderful bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. We chose to have our dessert in our room so that we could get into our PJ’s and watch the movies.
The rest of the evening passed in our room with laughter, a couple of films and a huge box of popcorn whilst lounging on the luxurious bed. Breakfast the next morning was also delightful with a huge choice of fruit, cereal, pastries and a full English.
There was just enough time for one last dip in the pool and Jacuzzi before checking out and heading back to the real world!
We both had an amazing experience at the hotel with neither of us wanting to go home! The staff were friendly and accommodating, the facilities fabulous and I have not felt so relaxed in a long time. The package includes bed and breakfast, pre-dinner cocktails and a 3 course dinner with wine.
This is followed by popcorn and DVD’s in your room complete with a goody bag. At £120 per person, I feel that the Girls Night Out package offers incredible value for money. It is definitely something I will do again — maybe for my birthday next year if I can wait that long!
