GIRLS FOOTBALL KEEPS MOVING FORWARD

Sport

Girls football keeps moving forward, 43 Garforth Rangers girls attended the opening pre-season training sessions for Years 3 to 6 age groups.
The success of recruiting new team members followed coaching sessions at 6 schools and leaflets to 16 others in the LS25 and LS15 areas, which encouraged girls to come along, enabling four new teams to be added to the five that Rangers currently have in the West Riding Girls League.
Stephen Shippey, the Clubs Welfare Officer said “Many of these girls are completely new to the game, but what all have in common is a wish to make more friends and enjoy playing football and, as a club that has always had teams in the girls league over the last 15 years, I think we are well placed to help them do just that.”
